Description of Contract Work:
Project consisted of construction services associated with construction of a new fitness trail extending from Building 34 to Building 230, Enhancement of the current landscaping to include the installation of a walking trail and repair of storm water drain in the Army Family Housing area. The construction services necessary to complete this project include providing all licenses, permits, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and management to complete the project.
- Fitness Trail from Bldg 34 to Bldg 230:
Install proper erosion and sediment controls, excavate & backfill w/compaction, and grading of the site, install an 8-foot-wide, with asphalt base course and wearing course, compacted to allow finished paved surface to be at desired elevation, and install pipe culverts in the path to accommodate drainage, construct concrete sidewalk from Bell Court to Hap Arnold Boulevard, paint crosswalks at necessary locations.
- Landscaping, installation of walking trail and water drainage repair:
Construct 2,200 foot long path to 6-foot wide with crush stone and stone dust cover, rolled and compacted, place crushed stone bed around the existing fire pits, relocate existing decorate boulders, construct portable shelter, install 119 arborvitaes, re-grade and install weed guard fabric and place round river stone, install pre-fabricated set of stairs and construct portable shelters, place round river stone to stabilize soil and prevent erosion, place round river stone within perimeter of circular driveway turnaround and landscaped plant area, and place round river stone to in other areas where shown that grass fails to grow.

The work includes the demolition, removal and disposal of all components of the Jefferson Avenue Bridge as shown on the drawnings for the existing bridge components above the Masonry Substructure of Bridge Over Green Brook. This work required compliance with local, State of New Jersey and Federal rules and regulations governing demolition, removal and disposal of metal structural members with coatings of Lead-Based Paint. The work required the protection of the existing Green Brook waters and stream bank to a minimum of two (2) feet above the water level of Green Brook and the prevention of all material that is or may contain some Lead-Based Paint from entering the zone of existing Green Brook waters and stream bank to a minimum of two (2) feet above the water level of Green Brook.
The work also included the installation of an Emergency Access Road, Vehicle Gate and DOT Signage at the nearby middle school. This work required excavation and installation of a cellular confinement support system from the public road to the side and rear of the school building and site restoration of all affected areas.
